[TechRepublic] Microsoft Surface: this time it's business

TechRepublic Australia Wrapper

TechRepublic Member | June 20, 2012

Editor's note
I have to admit, I had some feelings this week -- feelings I'd not had for an awfully long time. In the end I worked out what it was: excitement for an upcoming Microsoft product! Yes folks, those new Surface tablets pierced the veil of cynicism and made me think that if done right, the device could be a winner. That is a massive "if", given that Redmond doesn't have the best track record in hardware, and that the final specs, price, and launch dates are still unconfirmed. Until a Surface is seen in the flesh, I will continue my ongoing battles against Fedora and Gentoo. For good Linux news, make sure you check out the story below on the US Navy recent decision on Linux. And for a bit of fun, there's the discussion on science-fiction fathers. Have a great week. --Chris
