[TechRepublic] Microsoft details Windows 8 editions

TechRepublic Australia Wrapper

TechRepublic Member | April 18, 2012

Editor's note
News arrived this week that Microsoft has consolidated the number of Windows 8 editions. There will be less confusion as regular consumers no longer have to decide between Home Basic and Home Premium versions of Windows, and for the more technical of us, Windows 8 Pro will be the choice. The renaming of Windows on ARM to Windows RT, when there exists the WinRT API already, is puzzling. Be sure to join the discussion on the "Are sysadmins and Google evil hackers?" story to have your say on exactly how much of your co-workers' email is read by you or your local sneaky systems administrator. If clichés are to be believed, the answer is all of it. (Put your flamethrowers away folks, I'm jesting.) Have a good week everyone and we'll be back next Thursday. -- Chris
