Plenty of local news arrived this week: PyCon Australia is calling for ideas on what presentations and speakers its attendees want; there's been a nice study of how the public broadcaster moved from ASP to Ruby on Rails; and two Aussie universities have created new wiring only four atoms wide. Our lead story though is a cure for a personal pain point of mine: cleaning up the Google Chat list after adding a great many people to Google+. My contacts now look more like a chat list and less like a phone book. -- Chris
