[TechRepublic] Australian IT salaries show steady growth

TechRepublic Australia Wrapper

TechRepublic Member | September 12, 2012

Editor's note

Wrapper time! Let's get straight into it.

For the second straight year, IT salaries in Australia have grown by approximately 4 per cent. The Australian Computer Society pegged the median salary for an ICT professional in the private sector at AU$117,500.

Now onto the phone news. Microsoft is going to release the Windows Phone SDK 8, but the company is not going to reveal the full feature list or have a public preview. Microsoft said this is because it's what users want.

The install base of Android devices making use of Ice Cream Sandwich has bumped up to over 20 per cent, from a position of only having 3 per cent penetration five months ago.

And there's also news about the iPhone 5 that you can see below.

Finally, check out the podcast on making Windows 8 applications with JavaScript; it's not a bad option now for developers.
