Editor's note Finally it's on: a parliamentary inquiry will look into the higher prices paid by Australians for technology. I look forward to watching the usual vendors explain their way out of this one. A couple of years ago I think that the vendors could have hid behind the higher cost of doing business here, and the depressed dollar. But now, with Aussies still being ripped off for digital goods and our dollar flying, the gouging has taken on another dimension. One look at the price we pay for games on Steam should settle this debate. If hackfests are your thing, then Canberra is the place to be at the start of June, as a number of events are being held to mashup datasets supplied by the Federal government. Also this week we looked at some steps needed to fix the Android Ice Cream Sandwich build supplied by Telstra; and delved into the world of assembly that has built up around a virtual chip specification, in a yet-to-be-released game.
