[TechRepublic] W3C releases CSS 3 variables draft

Editor's note
Afternoon everyone, and I hope you enjoyed your Easter break. This morning we took a look at the new draft from W3C on CSS variables, it's been in the pipeline for a long time but I'd recommend sticking to LESS for the moment. During the Easter break, I was excited to see that my Galaxy SII phone notified me of a system update. "It's Ice Cream Sandwich time!" I thought. But alas, it was merely an uglier version of Gingerbread. Although ICS updates are being rolled out overseas and the Android update is starting to be pushed to devices across Australia, the total number of ICS devices is a pitiful 3 per cent of all Android devices. Hence the "When can Android devs target ICS?" article from earlier this week. If only mobile device manufacturers could centrally push out updates and test with carriers prior to release. What a magical place that would be. -- Chris
